Biography
Dr. Brown is Cofounder/Program Director of an African American personalized precision healthcare program within a biopsychosocial-spiritual format. In an effort to address cardiovascular disease and cancer in African Americans, particularly African American women, throughout the United States, the program is creating a national African American biobank combined with genomic sequencing and bioinformatics support. The program will start with the enrollment of participants from within a Black Church network, beginning in Chicago, Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Sumter, and North Charleston. The cornerstone to the enrollment into the program is spearheaded by Dr. Brown’s partner, the Reverend Hubert D. Hutcherson, M.Div., Senior Pastor of Shiloh Community Missionary Baptist Church in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Together, through an educational informed consent approach, Dr. Brown’s and Reverend Hutcherson’s objective is to create an African American personalized precision healthcare program throughout America, whose foundation is built on “trust”.
