Biography
Together with colleagues in anatomic pathology and laboratory medicine, Dr. Knudsen is building digital pathology infrastructure at ARUP, oversees the immunohistochemistry and multiplex staining shared resource at the Huntsman Cancer Institute and works with the Institute of Scientific Computing and Imaging (SCI) and its renowned faculty on algorithms for urologic malignancies to diagnose, grade and predict patient outcomes. Dr. Knudsen’s research includes biomarker development of prostate and kidney cancer metastasis and progression. She has a basic science and molecular background in signal transduction related to extracellular matrix and cell adhesion and tyrosine kinases. Dr. Knudsen is passionate about image analysis using a team science approach to multi-OMICS data analysis for precision oncology decisions and about training the next generation of translational pathologists.
