Biography
Dr. Whirl-Carrillo is the Director of the Pharmacogenomics Knowledgebase (PharmGKB) at Stanford University. She has almost 20 years of experience in pharmacogenomics (PGx) and its application to personalized medicine and personal genomics, with specific interest in the translation of human genome sequencing data for clinical implementation. She holds positions on multiple NIH-funded PGx projects including the Clinical Pharmacogenetic Implementation Consortium (CPIC), Pharmacogenomics Clinical Annotation Tool (PharmCAT) and Pharmacogene Variation Consortium (PharmVar), and has served on multiple national and international pharmacogenomic working groups and steering committees. She received her PhD in Biophysics from Stanford University and her SB in Biology from MIT.
